DVD Audio

Hello All,

I'm sorry if this is a repeat; but anyway....I have an 05 TL and I'm trying toburn DVD Audio. While I'm ok with computers my college attending son is much better. He followed directions to the letter (I Think) but all we are creating are frisbees. Can anyone help? If possible could you post a step by step process keeping in mind it's only me trying, using laymen's terms would be a must. Again, sorry for the repat. Any help would be appreciated.

I have Nero 6 and my son has Nero 7.
I have MP3's, .WAV and .WMA's for music files.

Thank you

jpalma (Desperate in Boston)

clsdave - thanks for the props man!

jpalma-
Or try this program DVD Audio Solo. You get 6 or 7 DVD-A burns or something like 90 days before you need to buy it. It is only $34.99 if you like it and decide to buy it, which I recommend over my scripts if you want a simpler way to do it. Mine are free but are a bit more work to use. Solo will do multichannel audio once you are ready. For now just try and get a stereo disk from ripped CDs.

Here is the thread about DVD Audio Solo https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/i-need-some-living-situation-advice-123681/

Also, try and stick with DVD-R rather than DVD+R. The -R type of media is generally more compatible with the TL player.

Good Luck, it is worth learning to do.

Dvd-a

I tried to use the Adobeman instructions and software and failed a few times - then I went back and read some of the posts again. A couple of things I did that made it work:

1. I accidentally downloaded all the software to the wrong directory and so I deleted everything related to the program and I downloaded to the root directory (c:\ in my case as with most people).

2. For some reason I had to create an "image" directory under the DVDA directory, and I also had to create the "GRP_1" through "GRP_9" directories under the "WAV" directoy - I'm using XP and looked at the help pages and when I saw that the directories were missing, I went ahead and created them.

3. After #1 and #2 didn't solve the trick I did further research - turns out I was using "DVD+R" instead of "DVD-R" and that made all the difference - with "DVD-R" I've had a 100% success rate.

Adobeman - thanks for all of the effort in putting together instructions that enabled me to use the software and even more thanks for putting in so much detail that for whatever reason, when my PC didn't create all the directories, etc. that were needed you had enough information for me to rectify the problem. Finally, thanks to everyone else for relating your experiences - I did #1 and #3 above incorrectly the first time and I'm not sure I would have caught the errors without going through all of the postings of everyone else!

Adobeman,

I downloaded a trial version of Audio Solo last night, it was easier; but after burning 3 discs successfully (I thought), this morning some tracks played, some didn't. Some tracks were cut off, some played entirely. It's back to the drawing board now. I'll try yours again and Audio Solo, I'll let you guys know tomorrow.

Thanks
