Of course if you take out your existing box, yes you do. I had a 12" Alpine Type-R in a ported box in my TL until I took it out a few weeks back.
It fit with no problem, but depending on the size of the box, it may cover up the section of carpet where your spare is, therefore making it somewhat a pain in the ass to get the spare out incase of a flat.

I had a 12" ported box in my trunk & it covered up the space to get to
my spare tire. But it fit fine. I dont know about a 15" though. A powerful
12" will be fine. Unless you just want a 15"
