Did I get ripped off?

I am new to this forum and had a question

I just installed a sub in my trunk. It costed me abt 550 with the items and the installations fees. The items they gave me was a Precision Power PPI PC124 Car Subwoofer 12" and Diesel Car Audio Amp. The sub is enclosed in a box.

Currently there aren't any problems that are appearing but the sound of the bass even at the lowest level seems to be louder than the other speakers. Does this mean that I need to change the other speakers as well?

I personally don't understand much about the car audio and the prices. So did the price sound kind of right or not?

It all depends on how much you want to spend. Adding another subwoofer to the current system, even a cheap one- will over power the speakers in your car. You have 2 options: turn the gain down on the amplifier for the subwoofer so that it blends in better with the stock speakers, or replace your stock speakers and then have them amplified $$$$$

Price seems OK

I would have choosen a different amplifier. (Which line did you get titanium or element). What kind of box is the sub in. Sealed is the most accurate and deepest. Then you have ported and bandpass. Slotted port(rectangular port is very nice.) Band pass are crap. They only make loud sound and thats it nothing accurate and they are overwhelming.

Have you tried turning the gain down on the amp? It almost sounds like the gain was turned way up.

Tfe691- I think that its the Titanium one. I think that its in a sealed metal box. Well the bass is very loud compared to the stock speakers.

JPTL-S- I haven't tried that yet but i will give it a shot

Thx for the reply
