"Deaden" your 3rd brake light (overlooked in terms of bass rattles)

Well today I learned that the 3rd brake light does indeed add to the annoying rattles you get with an aftermarket sub and amp. It's not as prominent as the rear deck or the trunk, but it's still there. Often, I feel that fellow 3g owners including myself over look it. Bored after getting home, I decide to give "deadening" it a try. After doing so I popped it back in and I could tell that my bass seemed to sound a bit cleaner (keep in mind I have already used Roadkill on the doors and then did the trunk and rear deck as best I could).

Here's how to do it:

1. Pull down on the 3rd brake light with some force, just not hard enough to break the clips

2. Cover the outline of the cover with some weather stripping.

3. I rolled some Roadkill deadener on the surface to kind of reinforce and add mass to the piece, you can do this, but some foam roll pieces with adhesive will work as good or better here.

4. Line up the holes and put her cover back in place. Make sure to give each side a nice hit with your fist to make sure the screws go back.

This should help your bass to sound a bit better!
