Question CD Label

Hi Everyone, I am burning MP3 CD's and I am trying to figure out how to label them. I was hoping that the 07 TL type S used the volume label from the CD but it appears it uses the first mp3 track.

Does anyone know how to label or place a file on the CD so that the label on the CD in the Nav screen can be changed?

I want to have 1 rock CD, 1 Jazz etc... and as it stands I am not sure how to get them named

I always wondered this myself, but once the music was in I was always too lazy to go back and remake the disc just to fix some labels lol. I recommend the following... Make a test CD with like 2 folders and a song in each folder. In each tag (such as title, volume, etc) place a unique ID (1, 2, 3, etc) and save a map of which number you assigned to which tag. That way, once you put the CD in, you can quickly identify where each tag goes by matching the number that your car shows you and the tag that you assigned that number to.

So the quick answer is the Acura system does not read the volume label but rather uses the 1st mp3 track title as the disk label. I downloaded .5 seconds of silence, down sampled it to 8K and place it in the root directory then rename it to whatever I want the CD to be called. I changed the tag so the title is CD label and now I can see the names properly on the buttons, however ironically the CD is still only called CD # (number) on the display (but the buttons are properly labelled)

Thanks for doing that research man! I'm going to use your trick on every CD I make now.

just be aware of the time it takes to read one of these CD's, yes you can load 150+ songs but it takes 2-3 min for the car to read the CD and about 1min before it starts playing after you start the radio (if it's already read the CD).
