Cant change home address.

Hey

I just bought an 07 leased from a company. When I try to change the Home address, it's not selectable. The delete button is also not selectable. How do I change it? Also is there a way to make the car beep when you press the unlock on the key? Thanks

I'm assuming one was entered, at least, since you say you can't select it. Regardless, my guess is that is has a PIN # for security protection. If that is the case, to get rid of it, just get the four digit security code of the navi system, enter it in, and when it asks if you want to enter a new PIN, select no.

Additionally, in your 07, to access/change the home address, press the setup button, the select personal information, then select home address. See what happens and let me know then.

Not a good idea to put your home address in your navigation...

Its a 4 digit pin that was selected by the previous owner. You can take it into an acura dealer, but it will cost around $140 to get it changed. I was having the same problems!

you can try the navi code, or start with something easy like 1234...but if it was their birthday or something, good luck.

Darn it! I was afraid it was "locked" in there. If no one knows a solution, I guess I'll just take it into the Acura dealership.

Did the two of you not bother reading my post?...You don't have to take it to the dealer, you can clear it yourself. I already posted your solution... But if you want to take it to a dealer, take it to me. I would love to make a quick hour off of less then 5 mins of work

So again, please feel free to scroll up a little and read my post

Sorry acuratech239. But what is the 4 digit security code, or where do I find it?

The Navigation and radio security codes-- which must be entered to reset the Navi and radio whenever the power is disconnected-- are on a small plastic business card that comes with the car's manuals and documentation. Check the owner's manual case, your paperwork and in the trunk spare tire cover compartment.
If the card is not found, the codes can be: 1) written in the manuals by a prior owner or tech 2) on a sticker placed on the glovebox and glovebox area or 3) on a sticker on the underhood fuse box. If the car is registered on the owner website at http://owners.acura.com/, the codes may have been stored there.

If you don't find the codes, you will have to call Acura with your VIN and the serial number from your radio to get the codes.

Welcome to AZ.

No prob OP

And Will pretty much hit the nail on the head. One specific place I would say to look is the mait journal though hopefully came with your car. If it did, open up to the first page, and (if the PDI tech did his job), all your info is on that first page. VIN, color, PDI date, etc, and your radio and navi codes. If nothing was filled out, or you don't have the journal, then Will's suggestions will hopefully help you.

Additionally, you can register on myacura.com and do it yourself. You just need to verify your VIN, phone number, and ZIP, and then provide the serial number (you can do this for both the radio and navi, for future needs of either code).

To get the navi code, you have two options: a) pull back the right side trunk trim (some plastic anchors and a plastic clip), then remove the navi unit (four screws), and look at the serial number on the unit. Or, b) start your car, hold down the map/guide, menu, and cancel buttons, then when the menu comes up, select "unit check", and then select "navi ecu". At the bottom of that screen will be the serial number. It's three letters followed by a bunch of numbers (I forget exactly how many). Good luck!

Oh and if you want your radio serial number ahead of time, there are only two options as well. Remove the radio and look at the serial number, or, disconnect your battery for a few mins, then reconnect it, and then turn your car on. After that, hold down the 1 and 6 preset buttons, and while holding, hit the power button on the radio. It will display the serial number, split in two. The first info will say "U xxxx" and and then "L xxxx". The Xs of course represent numbers, and when you get them, drop the "U" and "L", and the eight numbers are your serial number, which you can now use to get the code.

If you do the above for the radio, you WILL need the code to get the radio working again, unlike with the navi, getting the serial number will not put it into code mode.

This is all assuming you can't just contact the older owner/person who leased it, to get the codes, assuming they still have them
