I have a 2005 TL for which I've successfully paired phones to before (Motorolo E815, LG Chocolate).

I currently have a LG VX9200 enV 3 (old phone, yea yea). I tried going through the pairing process and get up to the point where the HFL asks me to name the phone. I hit the HFL button and give it a name. That's when the HFL system shuts down.

I've tried following the instructions available at handsfreelink.com to the t, and even variations, but without success.

I even cleared the HFL of all previous phones (weird that it didn't have any, since I have paired other phones before -- I guess it could've been cleared out due to a battery change that I've done before) and codes. Still no success in pairing.

Any ideas?

I have an Env3 and it pairs well to my 06 TL. I think you need to pinpoint if the issue is with the car or the phone itself- my money is on the phone. Try pairing another phone and see if that works in your car or try your phone with a friend's car.

My Env3 does have some quirks in that it doesn't always link to the HFL reliably- especially if Bluetooth was left running on the phone before I start the car. I now start the car and then turn on Bluetooth on the phone and the link works MUCH more reliably.

Unfortunately the only other phone I have access to is another enV3 (my wife's). Since I'm on my way to the dealership this Sat, I'll have them attempt to pair someone else's phone to see if it'll work.

I took it to the dealer and they tried to pair another phone -- no cigar. Thus, they agree with me that the HFL unit is b0rked. They are going to order me new one under warranty.
