Hey guys,

I just installed my iSIM71 and plugged in my iPod.

The sound comes through and the steering wheel controls work but it says I'm in AUX1 (which is not right!) and I get no track info.

SUppsoedly the answer is simple: I'm in the wrong mode.

To change the mode supposedly you're supposed to hit the XM button...

The problem is we don't have an XM button.
We have a mode button on our steering wheel to scroll through XM1 and XM2 though.

Any suggestions?

Nevermind, I gave it another shot and was able to go into ipod mode and my ipod went into "accessory detected" mode.

YAY!

Only concern that I have now is that even when my car is turned off, my ipod touch is still charging.

Will this drain my battery?

Great news! Do you get track info displayed now? I've been trying to confirm this for a while and some CAD TL'ers on here confirm they do but do not have control over what is displayed (just scrolls through song, artist, album, etc.) but some doesn't seem to get any info at all. Can you confirm?

Shouldn't be an issue with draining battery, after all, you have anti theft that is constantly blinking on the door although I'm sure it draws less voltage.

Hey guys i have a 05 with nav canadian with isimple71, it does show text and give u full controle but it freeses and crashes after about 10 mins so i just do aux1 and i can controle from ipod for a album and change steering wheele controle if u need help pm me

it doesnt drain too much at all. I can leave my car parked for a week at least and it will start right up. I only disconnect my ipod to add/remove music. The rest of the time it's in my car connected 24/7.

It seems you have a lot more electrical mods though so I cant guarantee you'll find the same.

Guitarplayer16, just installed mine and I have the same issue, just says 'Aux1' with no display/text showing. Did you have to do an update to the unit or just unplug everything? How did you get it in 'Ipod' mode?

I have the same unit as you, the ISIM71.

Ignore my above post!

Got it to work! Full functionality now including display. Just had to use the right tuner knob and switch it from "Aux1" to "iPod"!

Best mod for the TL ever!
