Canadian 2004 TL iPod connection

The 2004 TL radio doesn't have the XM switch. I'm considering buying the peripheral ipod adapter to connect my ipod and see the text on the display. Do I need to swap the radio for a US one ? Do I also need to swap the display ?

Thank you !

Will

it works just the same as the US spec head unit. You just have to use the MODE button on the steering wheel to switch to the input.

Are you 100 % sure ? I just remember seeing somewhere (in a ipod adapter installation manual) that you MUST have the XM switch. If you can confirm that this work, I would really happy to keep my headunit. What kind of TL do you have ? Canadian ?

Thank you !

I agree with The Dougler. It should work just like all the other units: DICE, USA Spec, Blitzsafe.

If you want to see for yourself try searching with the keyword Canad* in the Audio & Electronics forum.

Mode button confirmed on Canadian TL

I just installed a Dice Ipod module in my Canadian 04 Tl non-navi. Works fine! Dice channel is fed on XM input, selected with the mode button on the steering wheel.

Go ahead and do it! You won't regret it.

i have the usa-spec and it works fine on the candadian model. Just plug it into the back of the stereo in the cd changer slot. When u want to use the ipod u just press CD twice (first time it will go to your cds, second time it will say CDC and will be your ipod.)

No family ties with Felix, altought I watched him closely in his CHL carreer in Chicoutimi. Being myself a goalie I was sure keeping an eye on him! I was studying in Chicoutimi at that time and living close to the arena.

May be we share some "goalie" genetics... but I have only a small fraction of his talent...

Good luck installing your Dice. Did you get the Silver series? Mine is the old R3. It works perfectly with my wife's 2nd gen nano. With my 3rd gen nano, it doesn't pause when turning the ignition off. However it does pause when switching input and when powering off the audio unit. Looks like I'll have to rollback my firmware in order to solve this.

Keep us updated!

Cheers.
