Nav conversion allows you to play additional video sources through the screen provided for the navigation display. It requires a video splitter and at least one additional video source (e.g. DVD player).
You can split your video line to accomodate both sources and switch back and forth between the two. This is relatively easy in the TL as the NAV processor (and subsequent video lines) are in the trunk and relatively easy to find and split.
Most systems come with a lockout so that the alternate video system can not display on the nav unless the vehicle is parked. So no watching porn at 70 mph (Although I've been told that there are some miscreants who have overridden this safety feature.)
