Calling a stored number - help!

First of all - I searched. And I can't find a definitive answer.

Is there a way to make a call to "Cheryl" and intercept the "would you like to call . . ." prompt from the car before the call is actually placed? Also, the "calling" confirmation notice isn't needed either.

What I do:

Push and hold talk button and say "Call Cheryl". Release button.

Wait for car to begin saying "Would you like to call . . . . ". As soon as it begins asking I push and hold the talk button again. Doing this cuts off the prompt but then it always responds with "Calling" before the call goes through. Drives me f*ng nuts.

Is there a sequence that anyone knows that will just let me push the talk button, say "Call Cheryl", and then have it make the call without any "backtalk" from the damn car?

Please help end my madness, and I apologize for the rant.

p.s. Cheryl is my girlfriend. . . Don't tell my wife.

Go to Set Up, hit more, i forgot which one, but there is an option to disable Feedback confirmation....this should solve your problem.

And I'm telling your wife! (lol)

^^

I think that is Voice Feedback on the Navi, not the HFL.

I don't get the "calling" confirmation.

When I say "Call Cheryl" (oddly enough that's my wife's name .... .... HEY!! wait a GD minute. You don't live in Northern Virginia do ya? ) the HFL will say "Do you want to Call Cheryl?"

As soon as I can see the correct number is in the MID, I hit the button and say "Yes". So, I get some voice feedback, but not the whole thing.

Now about this thing you've got going with Cheryl .... .

I read somewhere that the navi update CD ver that came with the late 08 TL's had a firmware update to disable the feedback voice on a lot of features.

Your Wife Said....

Your Wife said the 'would you like to call sherl' response is a chance for you to say no and leave here the hell alone!! She will be programming the 'who the hell is this' in its place shortly.

If you base your decision on a photo you'd take her. If you knew what you were getting you'd run in the same direction I am.
