Caller ID - MID Display
Hey,
I have imported my phone book to HFL (08TLS).
When someone calls me I only get the number that is calling but not the name of person who is calling....even though it is stored in the phone book.
Is this how it suppose to be? Am I only suppose to see # only and no name?
If not, how do I make it so it displays the name of the person who is calling?
Thanks!
PS I'm using Blackberry 8820, it does show signal strength, battery life, and the # that calls in MID.

i'm pretty sure it's only supposed to display the incoming number, not the name, regardless if you have it stored in your phone or not...
my nokia 6233 also displays signal strength, battery life, and number...the name you store a number under on your phone is separate from what the MID retrieves to display on your dash, so it only grabs the number...that's how i understand it anyways...

Ok, but it gets all that info through the Bluetooth...it would make sense that will show the name who is calling...
Anyone else can confirm this? so I can stop harassing my TL

You can store names in the HFL system in the '08? Man, you guys are spoiled.

It doesn't display names, as others have said. Which is just fine by me, as everyone in the car would know who it is too...consider yourself lucky!

Cool, thanks for the update. I can stop cursing at that girl in HFL system
datmrman, I did the Cellular Import, and it imported everything I have under my contacts, names, #s, addresses...its a nice feature, for just in case my phone dies, I can always look up a number, but I really thought it will display who is calling me...
I guess I'll learn the numbers of all the people I don't want to talk to, lol
