I saw someone mentioned burning their own dvd's to play in the tl...are you putting a bunch of files on the DVD in wav format or mp3? What software do any of you use that you recommend. I dont have a dvd burner yet but this may be reason to get one.

DiscWelder Bronze or WaveLab 5.0. I'm putting my songs in WAV format onto the disc. (Some may have been MP3s, but they were decoded to WAV as the TL does not read MP3 files).

 

So much for the benefits of the ELS system - actually, the low resolution of MP3 is still probably better than any car deserves, given the cheap speakers and the high noise levels. Rock on!

 

my fault for bringing a old thread back up...but cant you just burn .wav files onto a dvd-r with any program? ie. nero 6?

 

Yes and no. I don't think you can do it with Nero 6 -- at least it wasn't obvious to me.

But, yes, you should be able to burn WAV files onto a DVD-R and have it play like a CD in the TL. I think it will cap out at 99 songs or the size limit of a DVD-R 4.x(?)GB, whichever comes first. This is about 6 - 7 hours of music. Pretty cool.
