Bunch of new DVD-Audios

Warner Bros. has been releasing quite a few albums in CD/DVD-Audio packs (not DualDisc - two separate discs). They are, unfortunately, a bit expensive at between $20 and $25. I've picked up a few of them:

REM - Green, Out of Time, New Adventures in Hi-Fi, and Up.
Mark Knopfler - Shangri-La

The REM discs sound great, making excellent use of the 5.1 format. They have DTS as well as Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks in the DVD-V section. The bad thing about them is the DVD-Video section is watermarked, so it is impossible to make a working mix DVD-A from them.

The Knopfler disc also sounds great but the 5.1 mix is not terribly obvious (I'm only 3 tracks through it, though, so it might have some surprises for me yet).

Coming up on April 19 will be Mark Knopfler's Sailing to Philadelphia, and then on May 10 DTS Entertainment serves up Porcupine Tree's new one, Deadwing.

Nice writeup mike,

I was actually on a website last night looking to purchase some DVD-a's and ran across the REM line-up (I'm a huge fan). Sadly, .Bestbuy's Dvd-A collection sucks. I'm in Naperville as well, can't say I've ever run across your "666" plates though, I have a silver Aspec.

Those aren't my real plates - just a chop. Look for an ABP with no rear badges and a white-haired guy driving - that'd most likely be me.
