Bluetooth echo problem

The person whom is called complains of the echo problem. On my side there is no problem. The problem seems to diminish when turning down the volume on the radio on my side to were it is better but not perfect.I am using Sony Ericsson T 616 which is on Acura's compatiblity list.I'm thinking this may be a problem using any compatible bluetooth phone.I would encourage all to call Acura's customer service line regarding this problem.Call 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific standard time 1-800- 382-2238. My complaint was the first they received regarding bluetooth hands free link(HFL).Is anyone else having this problem or have solved the problem with a new phone or by experimenting.I have read the comments using the search on this site about bluetooth.

Where does one find this compatability list?

I think I read somewhere else that someone had the same problem so you aren't alone.

I'm not sure this is the fault of the phone. Stands to reason that if the speakers are too loud, the microphone will pic up the sound and feed it back causing the echo. I guess it really lies in the circuitry in the TL and how it controls this.

When Jeff at Temple of Vtec posted his review of the TL I asked him what phone was used in the demo of the handsfree link and he said he thought it was a Nokia (there was more than one phone in the car at the time). He commented that it worked well on both ends of the call.

Could a new TL owner with a Nokia or Siemens phone comment on this problem? I'm very interested in this as the handsfree link is one of the major reasons I would like to buy this car.

I heard that the T616 or T610 is not the best to use with the Car, I heard nokia 3650 works like a charm...

Anyone know how the Nokia 6310i works in it???

I might just convince my dad to get one since he travels around the world a lot.

Do you know any US carrier who supports 6310i?

I haven't seen the Nokia 6310i offered by anyone in my area (Houston). The only Nokia offered is the 3650. Looking at the 6310i it looks like an older model and may not be sold any more. Just like the Sony Ericsson T68i, it is becoming hard to find too.

I like the older looking phones anyway - they just seem more - executive?

I agree. Some of the new phones are horrendously ugly! :yack:

Personally, I think the new Motorola V600 may turn out to be the best option. I have always preferred flip phones, and I have had good experience with Motorola. If this phone turns out to be compatible and is echo free, I'm all over it! :)

I was pretty stoked for the V600, too, but no one can touch Nokia's menu system and the V600 does not accept flash card memory.

Has anyone heard who will carry the V600? I've not seen anything (no surprise) from any of the North American cell phone companies on this. I prefer clamshell style phones too. If I get a TL (and this looks likely) I want a bluetooth phone. Luckily I can't replace my current phone right away because my contract isn't up until next March. So I have a few months to see what comes up. Hopefully the cell phone companies will start offering new phones for the holidays...

The V600 will be offered by AT&T initially and then I would assume by t-mobile and cingular as well. Sony has a redesigned 610/616 coming out as well which is the 630 which likely will resolve any issues they have with bluetooth currently.

I am still hoping for the announcement of a bluetooth CDMA phone for Verizon in the near future but I am not sure it is going to happen.

I own a 2009 TSX which paired with my Sprint HTC EVO nicely and it is supported. My auto battery started failing and after a jumpstart, everyone that calls me hears the echo. Took it to the dealership and they want $109/hr to diagnose (basically attach it to some machine that takes over an hour to run diagnostics). If it turns out that the bluetooth controller is not functioning correctly it will cost over $500 to replace it. So basically to get my bluetooth capability working the way it has for the last two years, it will cost me over $600.

Are you running a stock system?

Try covering up the phone so no sound can get to the phone itself.

You can try deleting that profile and creating a new one.

Bluetooth Echo

I have this problem on my 2009 TSX. I a in toronto but this is aUSA car (we moved from Los Angeles in 2010). The problem is on multiple phones in the tsx but is not apparent on our 2008 MDX. It started happening about a year ago when the battery was replaced by the dealer. I am thinking there is a s/w setting that got re-set and needs to be adjusted. The dealer has not been helpful at all and wants to charge for investigating.... I plan to disconnect the battery and try my own "reboot". Has anyone tried this?

pgeisner 06-07-2013 09:37 AM

Jump Start. Impacts on Car

my battery failed on my tsx and now my blue tooth does not work properly (the echo) after boosting from my MDX. Also, my navigation system does not work same way as before (defaults to nighttime vs self detect). I got a boost from the CAA (same as AAA) and the tech told me never to boost a car from another car. The electronics are too sensitive and can be damaged. I think this is what happened. Despite the manual says it is ok to boost from another car. The suggesed having a separate charger.....

Anansi 11-08-2013 12:37 PM

I'll give them a call too. I have the same problem with my '09 TSX Tech. I have had the same problem with several different phones, so I don't believe that the problem is with the phone. Most everyone I talk to over bluetooth complains of echo. If I turn the volume down, it will minimize the echo, but it doesn't go away. It effectively makes the bluetooth unusable.

I'm out of warranty now with over 105k on the car and I don't want to pay a boat load of money to the dealer. I'm hoping I can find a way to correct it myself, or that the dealer won't charge much:ugh:. - I know, get real right?

Anansi 11-08-2013 12:38 PM

Um, my bad. I just saw that this post was from 2003, I thought it was from October 2013. RIF (Reading is Fundamental)!
