Blew my front driver side door panel speaker =(
Bought the same replacement OEM speaker at my local Acura of Glendale dealer for $40.00 but when I asked how much they would charge me to install it the service advisor said "that would be a labor charge of $80.00". I told him $80.00 for install one speaker on a door panel? He couldn't even look me in the eye. Anyhow I left with my speaker and have been searching to see how I can remove the driver side door panel and install it myself but haven't found the thread on here. If anyone knows of this thread please let me know.
*I was told that the speaker blew because the TL's audio system is not designed to play songs that have a bitrate of 320 with the volume set at 40 (max). I had my IPOD plugged in through a direct connection. I have now changed all my songs bitrate down to the standard 128 to avoid blowing the rest of the speakers. Anyone else blown their speaker(s) this way?

Hey, sorry to hear about the stealership news ... it's all too common now though. The forums have all the manuals/guides you'll need in the 3G garage section, so you should definitely look through there first next time. Here's the link to the door removal guides:

Happy Holidays!
EDIT: The door speakers are held in a white plastic holder with three screws. The screws may be hard to get out at first but just start torquing away, and you'll eventually get them out.

IHC, what speakers did you upgrade your system with? Was it an easy install, did you have to cut the factory wires to use the upgraded speakers?? Were they components?? Did you do just the front door and deck lid?? I am looking to upgrade my speakers soon factory speakers arent that great in sound mid-range and highs IMO
