Team Owner
I just got a BlackBerry 8830 World Edition from Verizon (work phone -- no choice of carrier). I cannot get it to pair up with my '04 HFL.
I follow the normal process -- after I enter my 4 digit code, the phone goes on and reports it is paired, but the HFL remains locked with "PAIR nnnn" displayed on the MID. It'll stay that way for a few hours if I don't reset it by pulling fuse 6.
I've tried it with the BB set to discoverable and not -- doesn't make a difference. Anyone have any advice?

I have the 8830 and it paired on the first try. Everything's great except for one small thing:
My bt headsets would auto connect to phone when dialing a call, but when I dial a call from the phone, it would default to the phone first until I specify send the call to the HFL, minor inconvenience I guess...
Any ideas?

Hi Guys -
I beg to differ. I have the 8830 with Verizon and as soon as I got my 07 TL-S (a year ogo) I was able to sync *and* transfer components of my address book.
If I recall, you need to create a category in your BB (I sync to Outlook so this was painless) [I called my Acura], and put the names that were most important to have in the phonebook within this category (I have 900+ names). BTW a name can be in more than one category.
When I started the transfer a question pop'd up probably on the BBY asking which category should be transferred. I highlighted Acura and the transfer just took a few seconds.
About a month later I added and removed names to the Acura category and did the transfer again.
Works beautifully.

I just got an Acura MDX 2008 this week. After many failed attempts I was able to download my phonebook from my Blackberry 8830 world phone. I made a phone call with my blackberry phone to my home phone (was in front of my house at time)-any open call would probably work. Then push the phone button on wheel and say "transfer". Now you have a live connection between bb & car. Now push the button to import cellular phonebook on nav screen. This worked the first time I did it. I realized that when I was trying to transfer it using the transfer phonebook button on my bb, it was not connecting even though it was synced via bluetooth. Hopes this helps someone else.
