Aux input for MP3 player

Aux input for MP3 player
I have been using a Scotsch? transmitter to connect a MP3 player to the stock stereo in my '06 TL. It works but drives me crazy as local stations start to cause interference. I always seem to be looking for empty stations.
Is there a simple way to add an auxiliary jack to allow direct connection? My wife's 2011 Nissan 370Z has one and it works great. Of course it needs an USB charger to keep the MP3 player charged.
I am not an electronics wizard and the car is now 9 years old so I don't plan to make a big upgrade in stereo equipment.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Ranger

There is a step by step tutorial for the install on their website. It was very easy to figure out and the sound quality from it is great. With the cassette adapter i had some fuzziness to the sound.

Tough one. If you aren't inclined to do the install yourself and you don't plan to keep the car more than another couple of years then, as much as it pains me to say, the cassette adapter may be your option. It will do better than the FM transmitter but won't come close to a direct wired solution. I'd really recommend a direct wired. Doesn't hurt to get a quote from a local installer.
Also, the video of the TL installation at the link erh723 provided is exactly how I remember doing my install so I would recommend you watch it and see if you think you, or a friend you by pizza and beer, could do.

^^ If it's an iPod with the older style 30 pin connector, you should be good. The cable for the iPod will interface the iPod to the audio of the car (and I believe it comes with the USA Spec). There's also an AUX connection to which you can connect a BT device so if he has a cellphone, he can stream BT audio.

Works Well in 04 TL. Got it when my CD player crapped out.
Update Firmware before installing. Mine would not work without firmware update.
