Question Aux input jack upgrade for 2005 TL/Navi??

I just bought a used WDP 2005 TL and was baffled to find out that they don't have an audio aux input jack for iPod's etc. I learned today that the 2007&2008's do have a factory aux input jack. Is there any QUICK and EASY way to add this jack to a 2005 TL with Navi? I don't want to take apart my whole car and do some 352 step install. I'm simply using the tape deck to listed to my iPod through the stereo but I hate all the wires being exposed like that. Please help if you can. Thanks.

there is 3-4 different ways, but they all are the same, just different modules. There is the USA-SPEC HON2Y which has an IPOD input and RCA inputs for an aux. There is the Dice unit which has an IPOD hookup and a headphone jack hookup. Lastly there is the PIE X3 unit, which has 3 RCA audio inputs. All of them connect into the XM port in the back of the radio and are easy to install. I have the USA SPEC and it works flawlessly, I have heard complaints for the Dice on the aux port breaking off and the Pie X3 doesn't have ipod support.

I 2nd the USA SPEC. The install is pretty easy or you can pay to get it done. With an iPod it works great. And it has AUX in RCA's to plug in other mp3 players.

And you can still keep XM working with the USA SPEC unit?

yes, full functionally of XM. also if you hook up an ipod, you can control it simultaneously from the steering/radio and the ipod itself. its a really good ting for the TL and highly recommend it. Get it from crutch field, they have great customer service and solve any issues promptly.

The older threads still are valid.

csmeance provided you with a good summary of the popular modules, but they have all been covered in 3G TL Audio & Electronics FAQ. Please follow the links for additional details and/or perform a search for the most recent threads.

Welcome aboard and good luck!
