Audiocontrol Matrix Help
 

So I had a bad hiss/whine post amp so I ordered the matrix and installed it tonight. I used pre-amp inputs to the matrix. I tried the matrix both balanced and unbalanced. One of the ways was completely wrong. Nothing but noise. The other way sounds like I have a louder amplified hiss/whine then post amp. I've searched the interwebs for about an hour with no luck.

It seems to be one of those things where it is so easy to install, there is no way to mess it up. But what could I be doing wrong? $200 later and my problem is worse. With the engine running it's unbearable.

Is there a setting I'm missing here?

Pre-amp front left and right into the matrix with it set on balanced. Should be correct?!

Did you run you power wires close to speaker wire or rca's? How is your ground?

The balanced setting put out nothing but noise. I tried it both ways. It comes set to "balanced", but I switched all three inputs to "unbalanced". Unbalanced made the hiss/whine, Balanced made a horrible sound.

I went out this morning and put it back to balanced. It works fine. Who knows, maybe I just needed your touch!

I like the sub volume knob too. Makes adjusting the sub so much easier.

I DO have that effect....
