Audio system losing power?

When i first got my TL i couldn't crank it past 20-25 without it being very loud.

now even on some dvd-audio's (same ones i used in the beginning) i have to crank it up to 30-35 to get it nice and powerful

Could it be my system/amp is not as powerful now after 6 months???

No, you're just losing your hearing from playing your music too loud.

Just kidding

Check each speaker, maybe one blew out.

Since you're comparing the volume using the same discs as before, it makes me wonder if there isn't some kind of adjustment hidden deep in the system that makes the volume vary from car-to-car or, in your case, the same car. I've been blasted on this subject before, but I wouldn't be able to listen to many sources in my car with the volume over 25 without hurting myself. Still, others have mentioned they are barely able to hear their systems over the wind/road noise on the freeway, even at a volume setting of 40. If I crank mine to 40, I will certainly hurt myself, so it makes me wonder if there is a discrepancy from TL to TL.

I was thinking the same thing, then one day I went in for a check up. The doctor rinsed a metric ton of ear wax out of my ears and instead of 25, I was listening at 20. No joke!
