Attn: audio gurus...Need help adding sub

could mods leave this so i can get more feedback?? thanks

im planning to install my old system into the tl. i was looking through the service manual to see what i had to do, on pg. 22-394, it says what colors the stock sub wires are.

if i just tap the signal from there to the aftermarket amp, then to the afternarket sub, would it work?

because i want to control the sub from the navi unit. since i probably wont be using the stock sub anyway, i can probably cut the sub wires

since the 2 wires are already going to the sub(+ and -) that means it already passed the amp, right?

this really confuses me so please help if you know stuff about audio or have a service manual, thanks in advance

Cliff

or is it the wrong connector as a whole, on pg. 22-393, the connectors connect to the headunit itself, so i guess i could tap wire C2 into the aftermarket sub and it will work.

i think it should be right, but i need someone to verify it for me

If you use a line converter and tap the wires going straight to the factory sub, then you got an all systems go. Leaving the factory sub connected is up to you but It sounds sweet that way. Dont worry about trying to go behind the headunit

hey guyz,

i added in a 12 inch jl w7 in my tl. All i did was get a Hi-Low converter...tapped into the rear speakers and into the aftermarket amp then to the sub. I have a on/off switch tapped into the remote line and i can turn off the w7 and play it through the stock when the occasion calls for it. I think u should consider a setup like that.
