Hi Guys. I was looking for this clip that goes on the right side of our radio to mount my portable sirius or IPOD. It bolts in underneath the silver strip. Its specifically made for acura. Does anyone have or remember the clip name ?
I had it in my other TL (sold) and want to put it in the new type s I have.

I wanna know this too. I need something to hold my ipod by the stereo. I hate having it in the glove box or the arm rest. It's not convenient at all for me.

Are you talking about a pro-clip mount?

no
I saw that too. Although that *may* be a good solution also. The one I had you installed UNDER the silver trim (you had to remove the trim, bolt it on, replace trim) held on like a vise.

that pro clip looks like a scam. 30$ for a that piece + more for the holder for a specific phone.

Is it still going to plug into the auxiliary ? If so, how will it look running the cable from armrest to "right side of our radio"?

hmm..
You know that pro clip seems awfully familiar. The way it is now, it looks like you dont have to remove the silver strip. Which if its just as secure as the one you bolt on, totally worth it. I am going to order one.
30 dollars is expensive but hey, so is my ipod and stiletto
Its one of those things you have to pay for like a case for your ipod.
If you look at my old cars (in my garage I think) you can see this thing set up. It looks really good IMO.

looked a little deeper at this. The one I had was made by pro.fit
you had to remove the silver trim and bolt it on. It was rock solid and NOTHING would break that thing off. 49.00 though.
The proclip doesnt require you to take up the silver trim and its 37 shipped. Not sure how durable it would be though. Any members want to weigh in wh have had it long term ?

I have been looking at those pro clips and all and they all require 2 things. One is the mount that's 49$ and the other thing is the ipod/cell phone holder that clips onto the mount.

That 49$ mount seems like a ripoff, i am sure you can make it out of some sheet metal you can find anywhere. I just don't know where to get the clip from.

Well I have a stiletto with a car mount already so no need to buy anything else on that front. And yeah Im sure you could make it yourself, but not everyone has the tools to do that, I know I dont.

pro clip is an option. I have done a custom dock for and Ipod here is the diy https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/diy-ipod-dock-factory-radio-lots-pics-vid-811514/. Or you could mold a mount in to the silver strip. I was looking in to doing some thing like that for my video conection.

Hey J, panavise.com has the pro.fit for like $32. Don't know about s&h but it's better than $59. Let me know which one you decide upon. I'm undecided about which one to try as well. Pics would be appreciated. Thanx.

Forgot to add that you have to click on the Indash custom dash mounts tab and after that page opens up, there is a search box. Acura is already prefilled in, all you have to do is click on the find button. Then another page opens up and just choose the 04-08 year for Acura and add to cart.

I think its Bracketron you are talking about. They used to make car specific brackets. They now make three universal multi vehicle mounts.

https://www.bracketron.com/
https://www.bracketron.com/products/...vehicle-mounts

You can then buy specific adapters for either GPS, IPOD or XM.

Good Luck,

Pat

proclip seems like a good option but I dont know anyone whos had it for more than a year. Rumor has it the clip breaks easily. Have you had it long term and do you have passengers a lot in your car that could hit it with their left leg ?

Went with this one. I know this is rock solid because I had an earlier version.
Whats nice about this one is it rotates and they will replace it fro free when you switch cars
