Check out Clifford. They make good systems with various options. I think their website is www.clifford.com. I was looking to do the same but very confused as to what I want. Good luck and let me know what you end up getting.

Clifford... are you serious? They make decent alarms I guess but in my opinion save it for honda civic or something. Doesn't the TL deserves the best? Look into the compustar pro system. I've done my research on most systems and that's what i've decided to go for, but just my opinion of course

^^True, Although I'm not a fan of clifford.. I actually have the Viper 791XV in my Envoy. I have some complaints but that's only bc of the installers. If you want a decent alarm for a great price they are the way to go. I only suggested Compustar because of it's reliability and the features not offered on your typical system. The only downfall with them is that if you want it to be warrantied, the install must be performed but one of their very few dealers.

5900SST, if installed right, you can keep your memory settings to default to user 1 or 2 when you un-arm the system, plus i got about 3/4 mile range (they claimed 1 mile)

alarm worked FLAWLESSLY with the car.... my sisters boyfriend and I did the install in 2 1/2 hours

thats an urban legend, but can ring some truth to it....

say.... your power locks stop working.... acura could be a jerk about it, but most likely not... if your transmission goes, they wont be blaming it on the alarm

$600 installed is what I was thinking it would cost. I would love to get a better deal on it though. If we do bring two or more cars that could work but where are you located Lenjaiah?

flushing - queens

first off this dude who quoted me $500 for P2WSSR or 5900sst - that was monday night when i went there - he was closing up so i told him i will be back saturday morning and he said fine - went there saturday morning - asscrack jack up the price to $600 - he said he had to add a lot of stuff in there to make the alarm work - i was like dude, dont u remember me from monday?? u told me $500 - i tried to talk him down and he still wouldnt - even with the 5900sst he still wouldnt do it - i didnt wanna keep on asking cause i have this feeling if hes making less off from me - he might not install a full alarm or just do half the job and have me coming back for more shit later on - yanoe??

i know for a fact that the 5900sst would cost a lot less then P2WSSR -
if he kept his words i would have my P2WSSR already - ass crack yo.

There are some things that need to be added when installing an alarm that are based on your car's console and electrical. Most install shops label these "shop supplies". I don't know if the guy was referring to this or not. $100 is a lot for shop supplies tho. You should've got it in writing.

Question (not sarcasic either): Why get an alarm? So that you KNOW someone broke in or is breaking in? To me, after they've broken in, damage is done. I don't leave anything of value in my car, and it has Lo-jack so I can get it back. But, sometimes I wish I hadn't put the Lo-jack on there so I wouldn't get it back, because after that I don't want it. Like after another guy smashes your girl...just damaged goods afterwards.

That's messed up man. Where did you go? I'm on Long Island right now and if you are getting the CompuStar installed, we both could probably go together to get a bit of a discout...?

the #1 reason why i want a alarm... well its not really the alarm i am interested in. its the remote start. i could have them install only a remote start and program it to use my fob key. (i drive a type s) but the distance would suck really bad cause i have to be very close to my car in order to start it.

if i get a mile alarm... yea... its no use if i was a mile away but on the other hand, i could start it a mile away.

iono about bring 2 cars there. i had a problem with this ass crack before with my old car. wanted to have him install my JDM foglights and everytime i go there he always tells me he is busy and telling me to come back another day. one time he told me to leave the car there over night JUST TO INSTALL FOGLIGHTS!!

anyways... if anyone of you guys found a decent place around NYC. with under $500 install for a P2WSSR. please post and let us all know!!!!
thanks.
