Aftermarket alarm, code alarm

Aftermarket alarm, code alarm
just have a question regarding on an aftermarket alarm that the previous owner of my car put in. It's called Code Alarm. From my research, it is a brand from voxaudio. The problem is, I don't know what the alarm does and how it functions. There is this little receiver on my windshield which I assume to receive info from the fob. It doesn't have any name on it besides the FCC ID. Googling around gave me this: https://apps.fcc.gov/eas/GetApplicat...tml?id=1354927 It looks the same, but the FCC IDs are not identical. The fob, on the other hand, is called Code Alarm Protx6. Seems to be an older model, couldn't find manual because most of the links are dead. I'm really concerned. What happens if the fob dies? I can't get the alarm to stop going off without it. Inserting my OEM key to open the door triggers the alarm. Opening the trunk triggers it. Pretty much everything has to go through the system first. Any of you has any kind of experience with this? I can't tell the dealer to contact the prev. owner though, got told that they got deployed oversea.

Most likely the brain is probably mounted on the underside of driver side dash area. Pull the panels by your knees and take a gander. The brain will have the model number written on it.
Good luck

I looked but all I saw was bunch of wiring. The receiver has a wire that leads into where the airbag indicator is. Prob. Needs to get it to a code alarm dealer, if I can find one that is.

not sure if you need this but code alarm is sold and installed at pc richards. Also there should be a kill switch coming from the alarm that turns the alarm on and off. The reason you cannot find info on the alarm is because the part number is only for the key fob only. That being said, it looks like a standard fob, lock, unlock, trunk unlock, panic and opt for added options. Anything else you need the part number from the brain. Follow the wires from your ignition and you will find a black box that has multiple harnesses going to it. you should see two relays taped together in a harness that also go to this black box. Once you find it, you can trace your kill switch and get more info. Hope that helps
