Based on what you guys said, I just got back from the KOP mall and bought the Motorola. I'm just getting myself familiar with the basics on how to use the phone, etc. Tomorrow I'll try to hook up the Bluetooth to the car. I hope it's easy. Like you, I also don't need internet, etc with my phone...just to make and recieve calls. Thanks for the help. PS..the hot girl at the Verizon store also said that it's byfar one of the best phones out today and would have also recommended it.

Anyone know if there is a difference between the commands DIAL and CALL ?
I wish the HFL let u know with a sound when u receive a v/m or sms message, also is there anyway for car to play your ring tone rather than the default one it sounds ..?
I have the treo700p with sprint linked with minn trbles, sometimes it shows inuse but i do not hear anything, and if i pick up phone i hear ringing on the handset, if i reset the phone then it clears the trble, this happens every so often, not sure why....?

Samsung A640
I searched this thread for the A640 and couldn't find it. Does anyone know if it will work properly? We have to switch to Sprint by 7/25, and I can get two of these for free. They are BT compatible, but I thought I'd check here first.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I just posted this in its own thread, but I now have the Verizon XV6700 working across the board, including signal strength and battery meter. It required that certain "bluetooth extensions" be installed on the phone, and it should work with all windows mobile 5 based smartphones and pocket pcs:

I'M a Verizon Rep
Sup guys just to let you know I have a 05 TL and am also a Verizon rep in LI, NY so if you guys have any questions please do not hesitate to hit me up.
Just from experience...
The best phone with the TL is the Motorola E815.
I'm currently using the Motorola Q and it works amazingly too.
I had the xv6700 and it worked but not too great for me at least but awesome to hear its working for you guys.
The Razr works but just to let you guys know from my experience demoing the phone it sux. That also seems to be what ALOT of people tell me too.
The LG vx8300 works? Thats awesome. That has to be the only phone I haven't checked so far.
Don't get the A930 it sux from what I hear too. As far as battery life and dealing with the bluetooth on as well the Moto E815 still seems to be the best in my experience.
If you need anything get back to me ...lataz

Samsung A900 Blade
Just bought an A900 and successfully paired after 1 try.
While the car was searching for the device, I went to the phone's Menu|Tools|Bluetooth and told it to connect or search. The phone detected the HFL first then the car discovered the phone. It displayed signal strength on the radio and that's about it. Not sure if this extra step made the car discover the phone quickly.
As far calls go, Sprint was having 'provisioning' problems so I wasn't able to make calls.

Lg Lx350
Took about 30 seconds to pair it with the HFL. Very, very easy. All the icons show on the car's screen, and I tested it by making 2 calls from the controls on the steering wheel. I was told the clarity was very, very good.
This is a really nice phone, too. Sprint has them for $50 out-of-pocket right now with a new contract, and they have all the bells and whistles, except streaming vids and music. Web access is very quick, too.

I was able to make outgoing and take incoming calls. At first the outgoing calls did not work and I would hear a beep after I tell it to dial. Then I 'unfolded' the phone and heard the ringing through the speakers and the call connected. So I guess it just needed some 'priming'.
I attempted several succesful calls and didn't experience anymore problems after that.

Seems when an incoming call is answered on the HFL, you have to manually tell the PHONE to transfer the call to Bluetooth. Not exactly handsfree, is it? The tech is researching it for me. Very nice guy: Jerry Garcia. Yeah, that's his name.
So, I'll live with the glitch. Otherwise, phone is great, and Sprint decided to give them to us free!!!!

my A900 is a little wonky when using it in the TL.
It been kinda hit or miss with sending and receiving calls. Sometimes I can make calls easily, sometimes I have to open the phone and find the number.
Same thing with receiving calls. Also my bluetooth headset hasn't been working quite right(motorola, call doesn't end when closing the little flap).
I read on the handsfreelink.com that they are currently testing the A900, so hopefully some of these issues will be resolved

Sony Ericsson z525a
I can pair my new Sony Ericsson z525a with my TL, but when making calls only my phones external speaker plays and the person on the other end cannot hear me. Ironically, I can receive incoming calls fine.
I called Sony Ericsson customer service at 1-866-766-9374 and they stated it is a known issue and they are working with Acura on the problem. They also said I need to contact Acura to possibly get it fixed. I wonder who's really to blame here.
Anyone get their z525a to work or have the same problem as me?

I wonder why it works for me and not you? We have a 2004 TL, and a very early one at that. Perhaps there's a slight difference in the car's software? I could be wrong about the signal and battery strength being displayed...I've only used it once (it's my wife's car). But I seem to recall noticing that it did in fact work.

E70-1 = Europe (Silver)
E70-2 = North America (Black)

Verizon "Chocolate" LG-VX8500
I have the brand new Verizon "Chocolate" LG-VX8500 and it works perfectly paired to my new '06 TL...the phones caller ID, signal strength, and battery level are all displayed on the dash...I love the HFL.

TL-SHAWD 6MT Rocks!
I bought a Verizon Chocolate, 2 RAZR v3m and one VX 5300 for my kids,
they ALL work with my 2004 TL Bluetooth,
they ALL show battery and signal meters on the dashboard.
no problem synchronizing at all...
the 5300 sounds pretty good inside the car, amazing device for $0.01 (minus $50 rebate + free shipping + no tax) in Amazon!
recommended.

A few months back, my Wife had a W600 which worked fine. When the phone broke, Cingular replaced it with a brand new one. The new W600 had the latest firmware on it, different from the original FW that was on my Wife's W600. Thus it would not work anymore with the HFL. I called SE/Cing no luck on either end. It seems Sony is making FW that only works with there products. But there is a newer version of the HFL software out there. Acura just doen't want to release it just yet becasue 90 plus of the phones still being released are working fine with the HFL.
Bottom line.
Avoid Sony phones.
On a side note, I just got an Unlocked Samsung D900 Super Slim Phone, which works great!!
