OK !!! I'm returning to the TL fold tomorrow. I get my 08 Type-S and while I probably won't want to do much to it, I will want a little more bass. I thought I read somewhere that if you added a powered sub-woofer, you needed to remove the active noise cancellation mic? Is this definitely the case? Also, if I have the NAVI, is there and pod controller that lets me control the IPOD from the radio / wheel, gives me IPOD text, and keeps the XM text?

I never heard such a thing, but even if you do need to remove the noise cancellation I doubt you will notice it. I have driven both the Type S and Base TL and the interior noise is exactly the same at highway speeds. The only difference is the slight hum from the noise cancellation speaker.

ANC must be removed when installing a bass upgrade in the TL-S, otherwise you will hear a constant noise when the car is on from the woofer. Look for the ANC thread all about this.

To answer your question on iPod hookup...

The PIE unit is the only one that allows iPod and xm text but it doesn't play nice with the 07-08 because of navtraffic.
