2006 TL w/NAV - iPod Touch connection?

Looking to hook up an iPod Touch in my wife's 2006 TL with Nav. She uses XM. She's sick of burning CDs so I told her I would look into iPod connectivity. Most of the threads are pretty old so I wanted to see if there was something good out there. I would love it as much of the controlling could be done from the nav screen itself. Would also love it if it does text on the screen.

Cost is not a major concern, just usability and safety for her. Thoughts?

Here you go: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/i-160-usa-spec-install-633080/

BTW, there are several options and there's an entire section of the 3G garage devoted to iPod connections. Lots of resources here to make your decision.

sweet, thanks for the post i also wanted to do this, seen some vids on youtube with TL owners hacking into the screen and using their iPhone or iTouch to watch videos via the nav screen. hopefully it'll be easy to do and not that expensive.

Anyone have pictures of that working in a 2006 TL with Navi? I would like to show my wife and see if she likes it.

i just used a combo of iSimple and Dom's Nav Converter (tvandnav2go.com) to hook up audio and video from my Touch. Works like a charm (although I can not navigate the Touch through the Navigation screen)!

I also have an iSimple in my 06 TL with nav. It's really quite nice. As for pics, I don't have any, but it basically takes over one of the XM screens. So you see the artist, title name in the XM display. You control the menus using the 5 and 6 buttons and the right knob. I do recommend one thing, if you end up getting it, make sure you on the installer updates the firmware before installing it. I had mine installed, figuring they'd update it and I'm experiencing some issues that have already been fixed in recent firmware updates. Since I did it at BB, they will update the firmware for free, but that's just a hassle.

I have the Neopro link and just confirmed that it works with my Son's IPod touch with O.S. 4 as-is. I did not upgrade because I heard on this forum that integration may not work. If interested, you can go here for more info: http://www.neocaraudio.com

I need to use CDC emulation because I still use XM and the displays on the screen is pretty primitive. The upside is I can control the IPOD directly so that works faster than using the CDC emulation most of the time. The interface is much nicer when XM is disabled- here is a link: http://diceelectronics.com/acura-com...-for-ipod.html that shows the picture of the screen.

I am using the UPAC adaptor and it works great and it uses the Nav screen for display and you use the radio controls to navigate ipod info.
