Ok, so I have an alpine amp, puts 500w rms either 2 or 4ohm.
I tested a 12" kicker comp in an off the shelf ported box and in general has enuf bass.

This however was just a test.
The subs I have contemplated are:

JL 10 or 12 w6 in the fiberglass box that fits behind drivers rear tire well.
Listen to rock, metal, house and rap, so I am all over! Sounds like the 10 will be way more detail and tight, but still have more bass than the 12" kicker comp I tested...correct. While the 12 will do a bit better for house and rap, but I am not looking to blow the trunk and doors off.

Sound right?

I am basically looking for maybe a little more bass, hopefully better sounds as just a basic kicker comp in ported box right now and a small package!

Or other ideas out there. Thanks,
