hi guys

i was trying to set off my alarm on my 08 tl but i couldnt..

i was sitting in the car, opened the door, closed it, locked the car with the fob and then manually pulled up the driver side door lock with my hand..
shouldn't that have set off the security system?

I think you have to wait a few minutes for it to arm or wait till the red led blinks. Have you tried the panic button on the alarm?

yeah its weird....I have tried to do it also, but i think i only got it once....maybe it only goes off if a window breaks or something hard hits it? instead of being really sensitive and going off all the time

i think it doesnt go off if the remote is close by, im not 100% sure on that though, you could try locking it with the remote, then put the remote far away from the car and try

The other way to test it is to leave it in Philadelphia for an hour or so...

You can try putting the driver side window down and then get out of the car, lock it using the remote and then reach inside and open it.
