08 tl navi cd player works when cold

1. Original Cd player works for about 30 min then shuts off.

2. Found another 08 player everything works except player. When I installed, all back-lighting is red not white. Does red lighting mean internal issue with unit or just different model?

I don't really follow your post as many others may not either.

If you could post a pic that would help. Back lighting can be changed in the MENU/Set-UP screen

You said 08 player everything works except player. What? lol

08 tl navi works when cold

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear.
2 separate units. In car unit 1: as described above everything works, i.e. am, fm, xm, navi. However, CD player only works for 20-30 min then stops working, am, fm, xm, navi, continue to work fine. After car is shut off (cools down) for an hour or so then ditto, everything works except for player which works for only 20-30 minutes again. Worked better last winter not as well in summer.

Secondly, bought replacement supposedly new player/radio on eBay, Unit #2. Came in opened factory/Acura box along with display screen for regular, non-navi, I installed player #2, radio, cassette, etc. with original navi display. On this unit, again everything works, am, fm, xm navi, except player. Loads and ejects cds and loads in places 1,2, etc. but after loading never plays. Also, original unit has white back-lighting on player while unit #2 has red backlighting however, buttons for navi, heater, etc. remain white. I am suspicious that red backlighting is a malfunction indicator/warning. Is it?

Any thoughts on how to either unit? Thanks, in advance,

Many thanks. Solves possible malfunction issue. Now how can I get player to start turning and do its cd thing? Cds load and unload/eject fine, but apparently doesn't recognize a disc is present. Is there some set-up switch to turn on? Any thoughts?

Have you tried unplugging the battery and plugging back in to effectively reset the whole ECU/system? It's worth a shot
