07 TL Type S with working navigation and Aftermarket Double DIN

So I see one person utilized the stock amp and speakers, while someone else used an aftermarket amp and aftermarket speakers in the front. For every one wondering, Krank it up audio still sells the kit. I just ordered the kit and I will probably just use the stock speakers, amp, and sub for a while. Having said that would you guys recommend upgrading the amp and speakers in the future, or are the stock ones sufficient in your honest opinion?

find a double DIN kit that has these types of RCA connections. You would then connect those to the preamp outputs on the new head unit. they all connect directly via the multipin connector other than the sub woofer one. That one has to be spliced into the cars wiring. Also for the NAV to work you need to make up a 100 ohm resistor and splice it into the cars wiring.

Metra 95-7815B - double din dash kit
Metra 70-1721 - aftermarket to OEM wiring harness
Metra 40-HD10 - antenna adapter
Access ASWC-1 - retain steering wheel control
Pioneer Microbypass - to access menu and video while driving
I bought everything on EBay. You can find most on Amazon or probably Sonicelectronix.com too I'm sure.
Heres what my install looks like
After wiring everything in the dash, I also disconnected the OEM amp in the kick panel and bypassed the factory amp I'm order to power my speakers only using the headunit's power. This sounded the best in my opinion. Feel free to let me know if you have anymore questions.

Looks great , I ordered a double din my self , that trim that goes around it radio doesn't sit flush like yours does. I have a Clarion double din , I'll take a pic of it later. Idk if I should order another kit or different double din radio

I used the Metra 95-7815B - double din dash kit. No adjustments needed. It turned out perfect. I hope it works out for you bud.

Ahh ok see the one i have is this one. Where i circled the radio outside lip stops in that stop an it leaves a gap where i can still see those plastic lines. Ill order the kit you used , thanks

in order to make the navigation work on mine (2008 base w/navigation, I used a 100 ohm resistor to connect between the pink and light blue wires on the 40 pin grey stock connector. Dear SouthStar019, Uriah Ward, Bill (or anyone else who might know the answers):
Thanks for sharing info earlier. Now I could use some help with two questions, please.
As background, I pulled the radio in my 2007 Type S with Nav, for troubleshooting an electrical problem. Specifically, the entire center console (clock and all) sometimes takes more than a few seconds to come on when I start the car, and I can’t get it out of park until the center console finishes powering up. And sometimes, very randomly, when I’m driving, the entire center console goes out and then comes back on). Anyway, I might end up replacing the radio with aftermarket. And for now I’m driving around without a radio, to see if that cures the problem. But I'm still unclear on which wires get connected with a resistor to re-enable the nav touch screen.
For the 2005 model with the 26-pin connector, Bill says to connect C13 and C26, which are "Audio bus + (GA-NET)" and "Audio bus - (GA-NET)" respectively.
For the 40-pin connector, Uriah says to connect between the pink and light blue wires. And the 40-pin connector has a pink wire that seems to match the one Bill used:
C29 = “Audio bus - (GA-NET)”.
But there are 2 “LT BLU” wires, and neither seems right:
C25 = “Data link connector (line end tester)” and
C26 = “ECM/PCM (VSP)”
However, there is a “BLU” wire that seems to match what Bill used:
C9 = “Audio bus + (GA-NET)”
1. Is the resistor actually supposed to connect the pink C29 line with the blue C9 line (i.e., “Audio bus –“ and “Audio bus +”)?
2. Also, is a .25 watt resistor adequate, or do i need a 1 watt resistor (or bigger)?
TIA!

Edit: My earlier post was wrong. For the 2005 26-pin connector, pins C13 and C26 are actually labeled "Display panel control unit - BUS (+)" and "Display panel control unit - BUS (-)", respectively.

40 pin acura connector and 26 pin
Hey guys I was really struggling with this install and also wanted not to wire tap any wires or cut them. I searched and searched I finally found this small site it looks like a landing page and then the main site. Anyways they sell the 26pin and 40 pin with the needed resistor and RCA. I don't know how they found the plugs I looked everywhere but the landing page is acuratldashkit.com and the products are https://mobilemaxcaraudio.com/produc...amp-retention/ and https://mobilemaxcaraudio.com/produc...amp-retention/ I did my install with the 04 and then did a friends car with the 08 one. I hope this helps someone out, you can always just wire tap and splice the wires your self but this should have you some time and make it easy to install.

I can't say how helpful this site has been! Thank you all! I'm curious, are you still able to access the error codes on the mavi screen (like misfires, disc errors, etc). Like when you hit the 3 buttons at the same time and it takes you to the diagnostic code menu? Hope that makes sense. Thanks!
