Recently came into ownership of a beautiful 2007 TL Type-S 5AT. I absolutely love the car. Have a few changes I'd like to make to it in the near future, with the most pressing being finding a method of displaying of the music that's playing on the nav screen. As a passenger, I always like being able to look at the center display to identify new songs they play that I like. And I feel that's the only part of the TL that makes it feel really dated. Currently I'm just playing through an iSimple Tranzit Blu HF for bluetooth connectivity, with the nav screen off.

I looked into some of the options, from the total nav removal/renovation with a Nexus 7 tablet that someone on this forum did, to the video-mirroring (Naviks/Navtool) kits. But the former is way too complicated and expensive for me to get into, and the latter seems too clunky (having to keep the device in landscape mode and so on) and like overkill since all I really want is a generic track title display.

Wondering if anyone here has had success with an alternate method that's not too difficult/expensive/clunky.
