05 TL: Treo vs Blackberry 8703e HFL/Bluetooth issues
I had a Treo 650 for a few years and recently switched over to a BB 8703e phone and noticed the Bluetooth is behaving in a slightly different manner from what I am used to.
On the Treo, whenever I initiated a call from the phone and hit "send", the call would automatically transfer to the HFL and that was that. With this BB, when I initiate a call from the phone itself and hit the "send" key, I have to then press the phone button on the steering wheel and say "transfer". I have to do this every single time I initiate a call. Incoming calls go directly to HFL without intervention as do outgoing calls from the GPS directory.
What I cannot determine is if this is normal behavior or not. The owner's manual says nothing about this.
If it's not normal behavior, can anyone tell me how to make my phone transfer to HFL automatically when they're linked up?
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if it helps, but I just went from a Moto Q with Windows Mobile to a Treo 755p. Mine went the other way and likely a result of Windows vs Palm OS. With my Q, I could only "transfer" calls between my phone and HFL by using the "transfer" command after hitting the button on the steering wheel. Now, with the Palm based Treo, it does it automatically. Score -1 for Windows Mobile. In summary, I think your HFL and Blackberry are behaving as intended.

I recently hooked up my BB 7130e. It always asked me to accept the sync with the car when it was first connected. You can go into the phone and set the car as a trusted device and it won't ask for the acceptance. This may help with your problem.
On a separate note, I noticed that I would have the same problem with my treo 650 when I would place the first call. I'd say transfer and it would switch over, as you do. But I noticed that for calls after the initial one, I wouldn't have the problem.
