05 TL AT - Do not shut off engine message? / codes?
i was trying to reset my ecu... with driver door open and the key to the 2nd click, the navi said "do not shut off engine" and there was a progress bar as it was loading/updating something.
i've searched but could not find any info on this. does anyone know what's happening when the navi shows that message?
also - sometimes the display says "code", and i could enter one.... what's that all about?

When it says do not shut off the engine, it means the navigation is pin pointing your location. Happens every time you unplug the battery.
The code it's asking for should be in the drivers manual booklet, or somewhere in your car.
There's also another code you'll need to enter for the radio.

much appreciated, thank you! I'll check out my manual shortly.
I did disconnect the negative battery terminal, so the GPS pin point thing makes sense.
after the ECU reset i really do notice a difference. just bought this thing and it was 1 owner car, some older guy (im 28, older than me). Not that i drive fast, actually try to conserve as much gas as possible, but it's nice that its' a tad bit quicker now.

OK, found that codes. They were in the Maintenance Journal, looks like they were written in by the Acura tech that performed the initial inspection when it was new in 05.
The 4 digit NAVI code is of course entered on the touch screen. The 6 digit radio code is entered via the radios 6 preset buttons.
