I was wondering if anyone has found anything useful by using the PC card slot on the trunk DVD player?

theres a slot on the front of the trunk unit where the nav dvd goes in and lives- is that what you mean?
Every few years you may want to get the update dvd and install it- they run $200 and have new cities and streets added

Or does gen3 have some extra feature denied to us older gen2 cars?
It will not play regular movie dvds- but you can buy an adapter NAv2Go that allows 2 external units- example gamebox and reverse camera- dvd player whatever- hooks into the nav screen as their display if you need that in your car.

No my 05 TL has the dvd navigation disc and below is a spot for a PC card sort of like the card that fits into a laptop.

A PC card is not supplied. The PC card
slot is for factory use only. This slot
cannot be used to play audio files."

I did some hunting around in the diagnostic screen and it looks like one of the uses might be for data logging used by Acura...

Sounds interesting.

PC Card slot wise, the only modification that I can think of that might be of actual use to "regular" people is that you could possibly hook up a USB PC Card and hook up to your laptop and see what happens.

If some kind of diagnostic screen or hardware detection pops up, this might open up a lot of possibilities such as animated GIF's, hacks, cracks, etc.

That's a little wishful thinking though.
