Are you getting loaners on A1 service visits?

I just called my dealer to schdule the A1 service. I asked for a loaner and was told that they don't give loaners for a minor service, only major service. I'll try other dealers in my area but I was wondering what others have experienced.

I got a loaner (AT TSX no navi) for BSM installation but not for my A1 service. It was explained to me that loaners are given out only if service will take over two hours.

I got my service done this morning. 45 mins, including a complimentary car wash. Forget the loaner and enjoy the free donuts and read the newspaper.

If your service only takes a quick span, well, I see no point the dealer should give you a loaner, except they have tons of free rides for you to enjoy.

In my previous/stupid dealership, any works less than 3-4 hours will not guaranty the loaner for you in most of occasions.

Donuts you say? I guess I'll have to wait a week to get the service done if I have to wait for it. I called another dealer and they told me they don't give out loaners on any service visits.

why would you want a loaner for a 45min - 1.5 hr job?

You really want them to keep your car an extra 8 hours or overnight?

That's crazy. No telling what would happen to it.

I would have to agree. Why get a loaner for an oil change? Are you planning on driving around for an hour and then coming back? It's not like they're putting in a new engine or tranny.....

I bet there are lots of more things dealers could do for us... and we could get a loaner at the meantime...

My dealership offers me a loaner when I go in for service (as long as the service takes over 1-1.5 hours I believe). I think that is reasonable. I'd rather not wait 3 hours for my car...I'd take the loaner and pick my car up on my way home from work, or during my lunch hour.

I was hoping to drop the car off at 7 A.M. on my way to work, then pick it up on my way home. I don't want a loaner just for the sake of getting a loaner. With my work schedule, it would be very convenient. I'll just have to take it in next Sat. and wait, no biggy.
