My three month XM Radio trial period ends today. I've read a few posts a while ago stating that they were actually called by XMR customer service to see if they were going to renew and received special offers. Unfortunately, my wife and I are hooked on it so I'll renew. Were any of you able to negotiate lower prices, or should I wait until it cuts off to contact them. Any advice/info would be appreciated. Thanks!

They called me 30 days after expiration....only to offer another 90 days trial period.

no special deals.

the previous deal was 5.99 for 6 months, then regular price.

I re-upped before the call.

I think the offers they made were for some short term steep discounts. For longer term discounts, just get one of their multi-year plans. Save you up to 25% depending on how long of a contract you sign up for. Details are on their site and in plenty of other topic here if you search for it. I went for the 5 year contract, saving 25% per month (works out to be about $7.50/month). Contracts are cancellable at any time for pro-rated refund, so I don't see any downside to them.

Luxury car owners do not participate in discounts that equate to less than $2 dollars a month. Sign up with XM Radio today at full price. Remember, the wealthy enjoy paying more. It's the best part of being wealthy.

Ah, but the wealthy did not become wealthy in the first place if they were not frugal and always hunting for deals!

Amen to that. I don't consider myself "wealthy" either before or after I got my TL. Comfortable, yes. Wealthy, no.

I'll pinch my pennies when it's worth it. I don't go out of my way to do it, but if I can save a buck or two for little to no effort, who am I to look a gift horse in the mouth? The bucks saved add up and let me get other toys.

Just my $0.02....if that's enough cash for you "wealthy" people to listen to

At this stage in our lives, come on, it would be impractical to wait like 30/60 or 90 days to save penies. You have a point about putting your money in the right places and looking for the best deal, but if it causes an inconvenience, the savings better be bigger than the inconvenience and to me waiting for even a month to save $12 over the next few months is just insane.

I'm not rich either, but "I have to live."

I didn't wait....when my XM free period was almost up, I called XM and renewed with a 5 year subscription. Saved 25% off the regular monthly rate. I didn't wait for the other short term offers from XM that others were claiming (something like $5.99/month for 3 months, I don't recall).
