Xenon HID low/high beams
So the low / high beams of TL share the same projector lens. Are there seperate bulbs for low beam and high beam? or there is only one bulb, and some sort of ballast or lens moves to change the distance of throwing the light to make high beam and low beam?

they don't share the same projector they share the same bulb. there is a silenoid that opens a latch between the high and low beam to allow the light to be dorected into the high beam reflector.

same bulb. Another way for Acura to save cost and still able to claim sort of "bi-xenon" lights.
BTW, I do think they share the projector because there is only one lens.

It's the same projector and bulb, but a cutoff shield moves up to allow the light to go higher.
I looked for a long time for the video, but I can't find it any more.
Here's something that I noticed in England over Christmas though:

cost savings? cost has nothing to do with it. bi-xenons are just that, a high and low beam within one projector. bi-xenon does not mean a separate high and low beam that are both hids.

The only example I have seen of a 4-bulb bi-xenon system is on my friends Volvo S60R. It's really stupid though, because HID's hate to be turned on and off. They like to stay on. It's better to have halogen highs or projectors with the moving shutter, like in the video I posted above.

HID's in foglights...
Sure they wouldnt be fogs anymore but youd have a helluva lot more light.
Fog lights are defined by their beam pattern, not color or intensity. Beam pattern is determined by the reflector and housing. You can put brighter bulbs in but that doesn't change the housing. In fact, putting HID's in may have a negative effect if the focal point of the light source isn't exactly in the same place as the halogen bulb. The orientation of the filament or arc has an effect too.
If you have access to a Maglite flashlight fire it up and adjust the head. Watch what happens to the beam pattern as the position of the bulb changes relative to the reflector, it's exactly the same effect.

Yes I agree. Fogs are meant for fog. Yellow light works best, because it doesn't glare and it gives the best depth perception. That's why Lexus has the best fogs.
Using HIDs in foglights is stupid - it will blind other people, and they won't work well in fog. And, it's not like you need much more light on the road over here in America - you should see some of the beam patterns in England, they fall really low. Foglights don't actually help you see better in normal dry conditions - they just shed light on the ground close to you. They give a false sense of security.
The link below provides information on fogs and other lights from a lighting GURU.

Cost saving???
The TL has one of the best Bi-Xenons on the market. And your getting it on an "only" 35K car. Be thankful.
