ok so quick question.. Bosch Icon or Rain-x Latitude? I know they both miss that little 2 inch spot on the passenger side because its size 16 and they don't make 15. so it curves over the windshield. so just help me choose.

^^^between those, get the bosch.

I personally just got some PIAA Super Sporza wipers (same as the Super Silicone ones just as the "spoiler" on it for more downforce). I have to say, they are probably the best wipers Ive used and seen.

well I actually didn't get either.. I just bought these ProLine blades from Pepboys.. they are just like the Latitudes and Bosch's. But cheaper.. it was 16 bucks for the 26" and 13 bucks for the 19".. they are pretty good so far..

I just use the cheap Anco blades, and pair them with the rain-x spray. Every month or so, I spend two minutes re-applying the rain-x solution. With rain-x on the windshield, your wipers can be complete crap and they will still work well. I find this solution to be cheaper and easier than buying good quality blades more often.
Rain-x kicks ass!

I must be missing something then or been lucky as hell, because I think I'm on my 3rd set of OEM blades on my 7 year old TL. This last set needed to be replaced probably 2 or 3 months ago, though, to be honest. I'm looking for some new ones myself. I may go with Bosch Icons or Rain-X Latitudes or something, just to see what the big deal is.

I run the Icons and they're very nice when new. However, they last about as long as the OEM blades. The key I've found is to use them fairly often during the dry months with the windshield squirters. Seems to really increase the life.

I've thought about going with a silicone wiper that will never dry out but with my luck I would have a piece of dirt or ice tear a chunk out of one anyway. Still might try it just for the heck of it.

I have not had good luck with the Bosch Icons. They streaked from day 1 no matter how cleaned I kept the windshield and wiper blades. Also, they did not do a good job of applying a lot of pressure to the windshield thus bugs, and any debris would smear on the window from the blades.

I have had a little bit better luck with Rain-X lats. They took a while to start streaking but they did smear a little too much.

I've had the best luck with Trico NeoForms Flat Beam and PIAA super silicons. They lasted the longest, did not smear things on the window and made the least amount of noise.

This is based on my own experience.

Well, I couldn't find any silicone wiper blades to try out, so I got some Rain-X Latitudes from Walmart. I didn't see any Bosch products there or I would've tried the Icons. I'll probably put them on tomorrow since we're expecting some rain on Tuesday. Hopefully I'll see if they're pretty good from the onset.

BTW, while running around the Internet researching wipers, I came across some posts from people who bought Tripledge wipers blades from Walmart a few years ago. I'm not sure if Walmart still carries them since my local one didn't have any. They're apparently silicone and they're pretty damn cheap for silicone blades. I'm not sure how great they are (maybe some of you guys do?), but if you guys want to give them a try : https://www.thewiperstore.com/

Right after I get done saying they're good, my Icons started streaking tonight.... I think it's just a lack of pressure and bugs/debris getting stuck between the windshield and wiper but I didn't feel like cleaning them.

Just drove through some heavy thunderstorms and the new Rain-X Latitude wipers did pretty well. They were dead quiet for the most part. I noticed the passenger-side blade doesn't make firm contact in at least one place from the wipe pattern I was noticing. Either that or it was dirty there. I noticed a bit of streaking, but it wasn't anything horrific. BTW, they are on sale for $11 as of yesterday on Amazon with free supersaver shipping on orders over $25 or free shipping with Amazon Prime :

I have the piaa wiper blades, I installed them about 3 weeks ago. They're amazing and it is true how you don't have to even turn them on at certain speeds. I recommend them to anyone.

I've had the Bosch for about 6 months and they work great. As long as you take care of them in winter they are good for the money.

I bouht PIAAS for my car a few weeks ago and the are annoying, they squeek really bad. IDK of it's because of the cold weather we have now (average around 5-15 degrees) or what.

+1 to PIAA. I had them on my Accord for 4 years! Still work almost as good as new. They're probably getting to the point where they could use a replacement. But dang, 4 years.

I carpool with a lady that drives a new Dodge Challenger and a new Ford Explorer in the winter. Both of those cars have crappy stock blades apparently. It's funny to see my old 11 year old Honda have a super clean and quiet wipe while her's are jerking all over the windshield and sound like a pigeon being strangled.

The TL I picked up had brand new inserts installed by the dealer before I purchased it. They're pretty nice. But I'm sure they'll wear out in the next 6-12 months and when they do I'm definitely picking up some PIAA's:

Did not have good luck with Bosch Icons at all. Constantly streaked and smeared debri on windshield despite cleaning the window and wipers regularly. Rain-X lats came in second with slightly better on streaking and not smearing window with debri on it but the best so far have been Trico NeoForms and Valvoline Beam Blades for me. Lowest noise level, no streaking, and cleaned the window the best.

I buy the Goodyear Assurance blades at Costco for $7-$8 bucks a pop. They are an excellent quality and perform well. As they are so inexpensive I change mine twice a year.

I used the solution provided by PIAA, maybe it's because when I installed them if was 5 degress out. I'll have to try and apply it again when I find a heated garage.

I put the Goodyears on my kids cars, can't beat the price. So far so good, no complaints.

On my TL I have PIAAs and they have performed well for a year or so, I'll but them again when the time comes.

Bumpity. Trying to find a decent thread to post this in, guess this is as good as any.

O'reilly has Bosch Excel+ Wiper Blades on sale, buy one get one free. Limit is two free units. Very decent reviews for this blade.

Just got back from Orielly's and bought a set. It's going to rain tonight so hopefully these will work well.

And my total was $19. Can't beat that for a set of wiper blades.
