Wing Spoiler Installation

Bought this spoiler on eBay. Supposed to be identical to OEM. Anyone install this or an OEM wing? Any online write-up? I thought I'd see if I could tackle it; if not, I'll just take it to a dealer/shop to have it done. Thanks.

Be careful not to flex it even a little bit, this caused cracks on my ebay spoiler. Keep it from flexing. As for the install, did it come with a template for drilling? From what I remember, you had to use a template to mark places to drill, then drill holes and screw the spoiler down. Not sure on the details though, did you check the garage?

If the install is exactly the same as OEM, then try this:

It's pretty easy to install. Mine didn't come with a template, but it did come with some install hardware to help you position and drill the holes.

Theres an install howto in the parts/performance subsection for the non-oem wing spoiler with some pics of the placement/measurement if you get stuck.

one word of advise is to make sure you a hold of the hex nuts as you're ready to thread these on, otherwise be ready to take the trunk lid off and have someone help you tip it back so that the nuts can roll back off the inner re-inforcement part of the inside of the trunk as I had to do it...

How's the quality on those eBay spoliers? Is the paint good quality, i.e. no noticable things like orange peel or anything like that? I've wanted the lip spoiler....Does anyone know if that one installs with bolts also or just double sided tape?

Thanks for the help. I put it on tonight:

Got it from exotictruck-auto (as have a few other board members). The link in the OP has all the info. on this spoiler. Here's the thread w/the helpful installation info:

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...hlight=spoiler

HEK is right. My biggest fear was dropping a bolt or washer in the inner part of the truck lid. I did NOT want to remove the lid! And fortunately I didn't have to. But bigger holes on the inside of the lid would have made treading the bolts a little easier.

But it's all good. When I bought my TL about a month ago, I told myself I wouldn't mod it - just be happy with stock. So naturally, I got a mod before I got my plates!

So, what should I do next...
