Windshield cracked

Hey,

I have a 04 TL certified and have 60000miles on it. So I come out of the gym and I see a 12 inch crack on my windshield. I take to Acura and have them look at it and the service manager agrees that it is a stress crack since there were no signs of any rock chips and such. He asks the rep to order me a windshield and then he has a look at my miles and says that it is not covered under certified warranty and has to have the Acura rep look into it. So I get a call from Acura later in the evening saying they will not cover it under certified warranty so I guess I am left with no choice but to buy a new windshield.

I need help if there is anything I can work with Acura on this, anybody got any ideas. I have been dealing with this dealership for the past two years for all my service and everythig else. Also anybody have any Idea how much it would cost me if I had to get a new one. Any suggestions for a place in NJ would also be helpful.

Thanks a million.
Jake.

if a windshield cracked due to stress is not covered by the certified warranty, what exactly does it cover?

Do you have glass coverage under your insurance? If yes, your insurance company may cross claim against Acura if it determines it is a manufacturer's defect.

If it were a stress crack that resulted in a manufaturing defect, it would have cracked way before 4 years and 60,000 miles.

Go through insurance, but make certain that the windshield replacement is factory OE, as many insurance companies like to save money and install a lesser cost windshield.
