Question Will We Do Good In Future Side Crash Tests.

The Insurance Institute tested a few new cars recently for side impact protection. The only 2 cars that passed were the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camary, both cars had side door airbags and curtain air bags.

Without the above air bags, the results were deadly.

The frontal test we beat out all cars in our class: http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle_rat.../html/0404.htm

The side impact test with airbags: http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle_rat...side/s0319.htm

The side impact test without air bags: http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle_rat...side/s0320.htm

How do you think the TL with it's standard front, sides, and head protection
air bags, will do ? ( In future tests )

I'm guessing it will be close to the Accord.

That's what I figure too. In addition, if it makes any difference with the test.
The TL has an additional 300 pounds over the Accord.

The whole story was just e-mailed to me from the Insurance Institute.
