How does it compare with the Accord? Similarities? Differences?

So autos get better gas mileage than manuals now???

Plus i know there's going to be other cars that are better and faster, I simply said it would kill me knowing there is a base model of my same car thats a better performer. For less money.. I don't understand why u didn't just get a base model TL and save yourself a TON of cash!!! To each their own, but if im going the extra mile for a type S, im not getting an auto.

They shouldn't even have made it in auto. The rsx type S didn't have an auto, they let all the lamos get the base model if they wanted an AUTO.

 

Car looks good OP... I recently brought my 08 TL-S with only 34,000 miles for a potential new car trade in, and couldn't get a trade in quote over $21k for it... The market must be stronger in other areas perhaps?

 

I didn't even realize that replying back to you was going to be my 20k'th post until you mentioned.

 

Initial impressions are that the car feels bigger inside. Since it has tinted windows, it also feels more 'compressed' inside than my Accord did, because my Accord did not have tinted windows. I'm impressed with the power of the car. It has a relatively mean growl to it (compared to my Accord). I love the audio system, the Bluetooth system, and the TPMS.

The navigation system starts up quicker than my Accord did too.

The suspension feels a bit stiffer than my Accord with the HFP suspension on it, but I should expect that.

Did I mention that I love the sound system?

 

Thanks for the reply. I wanted a Type S so that I could get the bigger engine, and I needed an auto so the off chance that my wife needs to drive it. Does that make sense?

The dealer will probably take that and sell it for something like $24,995. Ridiculous.

Have you considered selling it privately?

 

You should hear it with a DVD-A. The separation is incredable. So, when are you swinging by for me to eyeball it??

DVD audio is the best I have heard in a car. Too bad the amp isnt 100% more powerful.

^^^ Yep. I want to buy the adapter to bypass the OEM amp and put in a 5 channel amp for the 5 main speakers. I already have a 1200 watt Hifonics Class D sub amp and 2-12" Massive Diamond subs, and all wires, etc. An I built a custom fitted box for the Type-S I am buying soon.

 

I'll find out in five to seven days.

JD, that's awesome...I actually had hifonics...but the class D ended up having a problem. I ended up selling both my hifonics and now have MB Quart Q amps. I love them.

Oh, I love that little car. I actually, to a certain extent, liked driving it more than my Accord. But with 150K miles on the clock, we can see the writing on the wall. Plus, in about a year my wife will go from making $30K as a part time nurse to almost six figures for a nurse practitioner. Why not splurge a little?
