I love the fact it has 4WD, but after the TL I would be looking at the dodge magnum. Yes the cars are different, but the Magnum, with AWD and HEMI costs about 1k more equally equipped, and that thing is sick looking(factory tint, no xenons this year though) The infiniti is nice but the interior just doesnt do it for me. I also think the TL looks much more modern and mean. THe FX45 I really like, along with the M, but very expenive.

I'm sorry to all I offend in advance but....stop this madness. Learn about Chrysler products and don't just fall for a pretty face and big

engine. You sound like a 15 year old with the Dodge foolishness. You have spread this over a few post today and I just had to say something.

Good luck with your choice.

I had my heart set on the G35x until I saw all the discussions about the thigh bolster problems related to the location of seat controlls and tried a test drive of my own. After 20 minutes (in a 2004 model) the bolster was becoming very uncomfortable.

What really sold me on the TL over the G35 was the interior and the bluetooth capabilities , it was just a more comfortable car.

Either way, they are both great cars.

FWIW I've had my 2004 TL for a bit over a year, I've put almost 15k on it, and the rattle has been from a lose driver side visor clip, which I'm going to get around to replacing some day.

I know all too well about chrysler products. We have had 3 minivans and they all have had tons of problems. However, they offer good warrantees(well, extended anyway) and we have had all good experiences with there service. Our 1990 minivan lasted 11 years till we were rear ended pushing it into the trailer bike rack in the car in front of us.(Plus, its a cool car, as long as my father is the one paying for the repairs). And, I am a 15 year old kid, and I like stuff that has a lot of muscle, and looks mean. Tell me this doesnt look meaner then a G35. 0-60 in 5, SRT8, AWD, navi. would cost about 45 configured. But with a hemi its about 35, and still is faster then our TL.

True, I'm not a big fan of Chrysler products either, but you have to give them credit for manufacturing and marketing the way they have. In my mind GM and Ford better start breaking away from the grandpa style vehicles before Chrysler wipes them off the map.
Besides owning mostly foreign cars, I have always been GM guy. Owned corvettes, raced a built several F-body big blocks/small blocks not to mention SD/HO Pontiac 455's etc., and we currently love our Z71 Suburban for its "functionality". But besides the Corvette, car wise, GM is falling behind in my book.... Cadillac isn't bad but still not a big fan of their stuff yet either.

Even my dad things the "Hemi" is cool.... And he's never owned/even looked at a Dodge/Chrysler product up till now

Chrysler = crappy resale values. I'd only buy one if I wanted to run it into the ground.

A co-worker of mine sold his 2002 Sebring a year ago for less than he still owed on his loan.

I decided to go with infiniti mainly because this car is AWD and made in Japan. If the TL was made in Japan and AWD I would have bought that. I don't have the $$$ to buy anything higher like the RL, GS300, etc.
Major factors in my decision:
Too many people complaining about the TL and all the rattles, paint problems, headliners, subwoofer vibrations, passenger door rattles, butt prints on the leather, water leaks in the back seat area, tire vibrations problems at highway speeds, torque steer, tranny recals/problems...... the list goes on and on. I have been reading these forums since the 3rd gen came out and I considered buying one.

Granted every car may run into problems but this is just too much for me personally. If it is one thing I can't stand it is rattles.

Now don't get me wrong I really like the TL and I love the interior. Hands down this car wins on the styling of the interior and all the gadgets. I love the touchscreen navi, voice rec., bluetooth, etc., but that is just more stuff to go wrong. When this new model first came out I drove it and nothing worked. I had to reboot the car in order for the radio, bluetooth, etc. to work.

Like I said, for me personally, I wanted something AWD since I had a Jeep and needed to get around in the snow. Hopefully the G35x won't let me down. By the way I decided to lease instead of buy. This is my 6th new car since '94 and I have never been happy with what I had owned. Then again, all I owned was American cars. That may have been the problem right there.

I have nothing but respect for the TL and every time I see one in the parking lot or driving by, I think to myself, that is a beautiful car. I like to talk to TL owners and tell them what a nice car they have.

Have a good one guys.

About two months ago I had a 2004 G35 for a loaner on my wifes car, it had 7,000 miles on it and it was a rattle box. And people think the TL is bad.

with gas prices the way they are one would think that people would shy away from big hemi motors getting just about nothing miles to the gallon. 0-60 in 5 secs is fast for such a large car but i guess you'll need it cause you have to get to the gas station often. but then again if your parents are paying then its no big deal.

Jackal2001 - Sorry about the thread hijack. Really, thanks for sharing why and how you made your decision. Though I'm happy with my TL, I know that there are other good cars out there.

Now back to the hijack, Chrysler about owned the streets back during the big horespower wars in the 1960's. The baddest boy on the block was 426cu/425hp Street Hemi! Sounds like the specs of the new engine. I remember that they got about 5-7 mpg and the Hemi option cost about 50% over the cost of the car. Boy they were fast.

Chrysler has again stepped up and with suspension asistance from MB. The problem with Chrysler of old and perhaps new was great engines lousy everything else. The 300 SRT looks like the budget, full size racer of the day. Someone else can have mine, I hate gas stations almost as much as I hate dealer service departments on a regular basis.

Sebring is a sad car. And, my dad would prolly drive it into the ground, same with the TL. The hemi shuts off 4 cylinders on the highway and during low accel. SO its 24/27. Not too bad considering our taurus is 18 Avg.

You guys own a Taurus?!

I guess if you're selling it, you're about to have an experience with the awful resale value of Ford. Chrylser's and GM's aren't any better either...except for a select few models.

Taurus' make great beater cars; cheap to purchase relatively new and cheap on insurance.

exactly my point but the interior on the g35coupe is excused bc its a sports car and its a coupe. PLus it is much better than the 350z's interior. I was this close from getting the g35c. I would have if there were any black/blacks. I have my regrets and reliefs. More reliefs bc i love the space and the HFL of the TL

its def a sports car bc thats is what coupe cars are. At least thats is what the insurance companies think. BTW, the gps is really cool bc the screen pops up. THe interior is not bad at all. Remember, perforumace wise the g35 coupe easily outperforums the TL.

of course the GT3 has cupholders, its called the passenger. and since its a porsche the passenger probably gonna be a hottie which makes the interior that much better than the TL or the G35.

Why do folks always say "get the G35 coupe."

If you could have gotten a coupe, not a 4 dr sedan, then why did you buy a TL?

We needed a new car that was classy, high quality, good in snow, had 4 doors for guests and kids, and enough power to keep ProStockJohn from slapping on a supercharger on it. We did not get a G35 because they were dated, inside and out. There have been a few wintry days when I would have liked AWD but the other 330 days of the year I like driving the lighter car rather than the 3650 tank.

Infiniti originally had a cheap looking interior for 2003-2004. Now 2005 models the interior is right on par with Acura.

Hmmm thats your opinion. But I think the new TL is dating really fast. Maybe due to the fact the TSX had that design for a few years now already.

The G35 is still a eye catcher and will always be.

How about posting a 2005 G35 instead of a 2003 G35? The styling is 100x better and personally looks better with the sport package than the TL does now.

Interesting... people evaluating someone's opinion. lol. Fact... the materials in the TL appear nicer. Fact... the materials in the TL rattle much more. Fact... the TL engine has never been considered for the 10 best list. Fact the tl is cheaper than the G. And on and on it goes. Who F-n cares what someone thinks. I do not have to defend a purchase to anyone. Fact, The price point is very competitive so, you will find car makers wanting to be able to have some bragging rights over something or another. Fact the G makes more torque and hp than the TL. Maybe the TL is faster depending on the driver, conditions, tranny, intake, etc.

I have an '04 G35 with 4k miles an an '04 TL with 14k miles. Neither have had major problems (beyond the TL's tires and a recall).

G35 is a much better drivers car but sucks for long-distance hauls. TL is superb at highway jaunts (400 miles felt like 100 in my 1994 VW Passat GLX).

Good question.

The TL gets 18-19MPG in the city (as low as 16-17 driving fast in stop-and-go traffic). On the highway (once the transmission 're-adjusts') I get 30+ (as high as 32 driving solo and as low as 28-29 with 3 passengers, luggage and averaging 75-80mph).

The G35, on the other hands, appears as though it gets lower mileage - it has a larger tank (20 gallons) and requires more frequent fill ups. However, I haven't really done the exact math (maybe 12-18 MPG) since I drive it far less than the TL.

"Once the transmission re-adjusts"? Do you mean shift from 4th to 5th, or does it have some sort of biomechanical epiphany?
