whooped a hemi cherokee

i was at a stop light, 2 lanes both ways and pull up next to this brand new 5.7L hemi grand cherokee limited. i knew this guy wanted to punch it, so at green I easy into 1st for a split second and then stomp on it and blow past him pretty easily. I could tell he he stamped it because I couldn't hear my car at all over the sound of his engine revving. he did pull ahead at first because I eased into my launch but as soon as v-tec kicked in I was gone. I thought those hemi cherokee's would be faster. I have driven one and it feels very torquey and pretty quick, but not as much push as my TL.

these are the manufacturer specs on the grand cherokee limited. I thought they were faster 0-60 too. My car is definitely faster than this:

Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited QuadraDrive II 4wd - V8 5.7L (325 hp) 5A + ABS 6.74 15.21 92.70 139

these are not as fast as the 300c or magnum rt.

I'm so tired of the "American" way to get good performance. Don't get me wrong, I love some of the new cars like the new Vette, but I'm tired of seeing 4.0L-8.0L to get good straight line performance. Most of it seems to come from Dodge and their freakin Hemi's. I mean what the hell do you think is going to happen if I drop a huge freakin engine into a car. I'm not impressed by what their doing. Give a 5.7L Engine to Foreign Engineer Team and just imagine what they could do.

Good kill though...................

the commercial from jeep touts them as faster than a 325xi BMW, which we allready know we can beat. they're fast, but they're still big, heavy 4x4's. still a good kill though.

try racing a powerstroke F250 turbo diesel. i did once and got a run for my money (i wasn't driving a type-s at the time though).

Good kill. My friend's father has one and it's a pretty quick truck, I'm not going to lie. I really can't wait to see the Grand Cherokee SRT-8. That thing's going to be a monster!
