Speaking about germans, they will come up soon with two new engines: v8 425hp for new M3 and I6 375bhp for 3 series (latter will be turbo)
Where did you get your sources for this info? Something sounds fishy to me.. theV8 engine putting out 425 hp , so probably just under 400 actual . And the I6 engine putting out 375 bhp (isn't BrakeHorsePower actual HP? "put to the brakes"?). Making the I6's 375 bhp realitivly close to the V8's 400 bhp.... And if there is a turbo coming for the 3 series' I6 , it would comfortably put the turboed base I6 over the M3's V8..

not questioning your integrity, something just sounds fishy.. anyone else?

I can see the 3-seriese going to 375 simply due to Is350 going to 300.... BMW and Mercades always trump teh competition with the latest models. I saw a vid of a SL65 AMG doing the 1/4 in 10 seconds in a vid this morning.. in a luxury convertable... simply incredible!!

The inline six being discussed is turbocharged. It is probably going to be closer to 350 than 375 hp.

E90 330i and 2005 TL MT (both manual and stock) have almost the same numbers.
Has your buddy went against an E46 330i ZHP? I'm curious to know how the E90 330i's do against its predessor's performance version.

What mods does he have?

No, he hasn't got the chance yet, I think ZHP is a bit faster than a bone stock E90 330i, what do you think? No mods, just sport package.

I have a feeling the E46 ZHP is more tossable, but a bit slower in a straight line. When I was shopping for a new sedan, I test drove the TL, G35, and 330i ZHP. Although the ZHP sure appeared to be the "slowest" on paper, it definately felt the fastest and most enjoyable to drive of the three.
