I haven't had a chance to race a 2003 maxima...I know TL-S come with 260 Hp and the Maxima comes with 255 Hp..so who would win ...I can imagine that the maxima would have better take off and in top end The TL-S would catch up..

yeah......provided the Maxima has torque steer issues. That aside, it's even.

i know my 99TL and my friend's 99Max SE were pretty dead even. first time i won, second time we tied. first time i won because mine is just an auto.. he had a 5 speed manual and he missed a gear while catching up.. raced a few more times, but its too hard to tell when we're both going at such high speeds.

if maxima is 6spd then tl-s is going down, if both are auto I think tl-s will pull away as speeds get higher. i would definitely drive a 6spd 03 maxima as a daily driver, very fun to drive and nice gearbox too.

Monte TLS,MAX

Maxima looks sportier, the Max will definately take the TLS down low to mid range (max just has the torque to pull hard down low), the TLS up high. So in a light to light situation the Max will take it if the driver doesnot burn the tires up, up top once the TL gets in that dreaded 4th gear the Max pulls harder again. My old TLS never could trap as high in the 1/4 as the Max, both are mid to hig 14's trapping in the low to mid 90's.......... that includes the 04-06 TL as well.

My personal experiences with the TL-S and my 02 Maxima affirm that assertion.

DISCLAIMER: If said 03 Maxima is still rolling on Potenza RE92s, then my $$$ is on the TL-S.
