WHITE license plate lights

Anybody have pure white license plate lights? I've tried several led lights that say they're white but they all have a hint of blue in them. I've seen some on the road with pure white light. Anyone know where to buy them? Thanks!

What yah want is LEDs that are color Warm white. No bluish color just pure white. They look very classy not tackley like the blue ones.

Look up the cold cathode license plate mod. This is what I did and it's pure white and very bright. Not the beat pic but you can see the light on the ground too

Thanks. CCFLs, purchased from FrozenCPU. This is 2 x 12" units with a ghetto-fab deflector and cleared diffuser.

Looks like a really easy, cheap, and fun DIY =)

I'm afraid because of the climate up here, CCFLs aren't ideal, though =(

Might have to stick to getting good LEDS.

I live in northern MN dude, can't be that much worse than my climate. I haven't had one problem with mine.

After seeing these pics, I went outside and turned my lights on. I came back inside and ordered two of the 2x12 CCFL kits.

You only need one kit.

Yeah only one kit. One kit comes with two tubes, atleast mine did.

The only thing is, is it takes a little bit for the Cathode tubes to warm up to the optimal brightness.

I know you only need one, but then if the inverter (or whatever its called in this case) goes out, I wont have a spare. Or maybe I'll use the other set to light the interior of the trunk.

I agree on the CCFL's. I used the 4" kit. Two 4" tubes and a bit of plexiglass. Only problem I've seen is the dirt and grime building up on the inside of the lense. If I ever get in there again, I'll fabricate some kind of cover on the top to divert any water away from the lights. As far as cold weather, I probably wouldn't know since it doesn't get too cold here. Plus, I don't normally stand behind the car when I turn the lights on. But I've never seen either of the lights not working and it's been about a year and a half.

I'm so sold on the CCFL's, I started working them into other projects, too. You should see the boat all lit up at night!
