Where Does It End?...
I discovered this site a few months ago while cruising the net. I saved the link so I could visit now and then but as time went on I found myself visiting more and more. Now I'm on almost everyday! I started seeing all these TL's on nice wheels and they looked so good I wanted some of my own. A month later I bought some wheels and thought that would be it...nope, it wasn't. I currently have a front ASpec lip on order and I'm actively shopping for a lowering kit. I'm thinking once I have that I'll be satisfied but I'm not quite about that. This could get ugly....

It ends if you ever sell the car...and begins again with a new car!
I've told this story before, but check out my signature. That's all a result of me not being able to figure out the mess of a cargo net we're given, then coming on here and looking for instructions on how to install it...

oh you don't know how right you are. when i bought my wheels my gf actually said "that could've been a down payment on my [engagement] ring." for her, me spending money on my car, something she deems a waste, is a perfect situation to bring up the whole marriage thing

Area on my XM
I think a lot of us are having this issue. I bought my car in December, and I was pretty adament about not spending a lot of money on it because the car was almost perfect for me in it's OEM clothing. Well... <cough> After the A-spec underbody kit, suspension upgrades and other minor additions, I've had to put my foot down. No wheels, no blacked-out headlights, no performance upgrades. That's ok. The car now stands out a bit with great curb appeal, and I'm going to live with that. No regrets.

LOL at the cargo net thing. I only came to Acurazine to figure out how I could hook up my iPod to my stereo. 6-8 grand later and Im still here still looking for more stuff. It never ends.
Then you bring the wife into the situation and it complicates it even more. Luckily I bought her a nice ring, paid for a nice wedding and honeymoon, so I have some leeway. But still, then the issue becomes, this is money that could be put towards the house or towards a vacation or....anyways welcome to the site!

Guys, our bank accounts will eternally suffer, our social lives will suffer. Acurazine is worse that caffeine-more addictive. Once my girlfriend found out I have over 2,800 posts in just a year and a half, I NEVER hear the end of it. She says I spend more money on my Type S than I do on her. I'm on the site usually twice a day. But I've made some great friends, who I have a lot in common with too.
So it's not so bad-if you can separate the addiction from your wallet!

No doubt this site is a cash vacuum, but in the same respect it has started giving me a skill set I never thought possible. Prior to spending hours on this site I never had the confidence to do any upgrades myself. Anything I wanted installed or upgraded I always paid someone else to do it. This site has so many great DIY's that make things I thought impossible for me to do seem so basic. So much so that I actually dared do them myself. As a result I have this new found love for actually doing the work myself. For me, it's totally worth it.

Advanced
Exactly!
My last car (96 SS) I got her stock and completely redid the interior and ended up spending $7K on her.
Sold her last month, now a proud owner of 3G TL . . . and a newcomer to the world of "TL modding." So the cycle will begin again . . .
Peace

This is all so true i was in the process of deciding to sell my Sti for a TL back in Dec. 2005 and stumbled upon this site wanting to see if it was possible to use the navi screen to play dvds and it was possible but i couldnt find a buyer for my Sti. So i held on to it till June 2008 when i saw how hideous the 4g TL's are, and made the big move before i was no longer able to buy a new 3g and 1 year with way to much money i put into the car here i am now. G/f has learned to accept the fact that i will mod cars for the rest of my life and no longer bugs me about it. But what makes her more mad is all the electronics i consistently buy every week from ebay. Oh well welcome to Acurazine.
